Houston, TX

Layover: Houston, TX
Ok, so... Im about to update you on my misfortune of 2 days and nights in a row of terrible hotel gyms! The first time I was in New Orleans where I woke up extra early (even a long day of flying ahead of me.. to go to the gym) The gym was locked and no one could seem to find a key to open it or figure out how it got locked. By the time I sat around waiting for eveyone at the hotel to realize it, it was already too late to work out and I had to be getting ready to leave for the airport soon anyway. UGH! The day after I had met my boyfriend, Chris, just outside the Boston area so I could see him while we were both away for work but in the same city for once! While he went to work in the morning I located the gym, stretched, got on the treadmill to find some sort of ERROR reading across the treadmill computer. Typical.
My gym and workout schedule FINALLY got back on schedule yesterday in Houston, TX. Again its so hard to work out on the road to begin with and than when the hotel gyms are crappy and broken it is very discouraging... However, at least new hotels = new change of scenery for the hotels with nice gyms. So that way it is a bit of a switch up and your not always on the same machine twice!
Yesterdays work out via treadmill:
(Brought to you by B.Fit owner Ethel B)
The treadmill was set to end every 20mins (again hotel required)
1 mile warm up. 20 mins. 141 cals. Increased incline every 30 secs at walking pace of 3.4 til I reached level 10. Walked at level 10 for 2 full mins brought back down to .5 still walking at 3.4.
Jogged for 3 mins at 5.4 and than walked for 2 mins at 3.4. I was dripping! .7 mils with 83 cals burned.
Cooldown 5 mins. 20 cals. at .2 miles
I will be doing this workout again today! Cant wait to hit the gym. Later!

Pittsburgh, PA

Layover: Pittsburgh, PA
I'm not gonna lie, I really didn't give it my all today, which I am ashamed to admit! However I will say that the hotel that we stay in Pittsburgh has one of the nicest hotel gyms I've seen in a very long time.. If not.. EVER!
Stretching - Ive notice that my flexibility has gotten better when I stretch before and after a workout!
Elliptical - 2.08 miles. 220 cals. 26 mins.
Bike - 4.45 miles. 200 cals. 30 mins.
I didn't lift any weights today. I will lift tomorrow morning and plan to do abs tomorrow!

Back Tracking... My days off!

This post is gonna be a short back track of my 5 days off. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to log on and post my progress. Womp Womp!
So Flew back late Sunday Night...
Monday I went to the gym and did a combo of weights and cardio. Then I went skiing at Mt. Creek (and although its Mt. Creek, I still got an extra workout in skiing!)
Tuesday I did a bunch of running around, couldn't get to the gym, however I did make it up to Mt. Creek for skiing again!
Wednesday/Thursday I went and saw my grandma and than went to my cousins Confirmation. I was only able to get 20 mins. of walking the dog in each day... ughhh.. NOTHING INTENSE.. :(
Friday I went back to the gym before heading to the airport to Commute to Boston.. I tried to make up for Wed./Thurs. by doing an almost full hour of cardio! I have noticed that by all the cardio Ive been doing I'm less short of breath doing easier tasks. For example; walking up and down 2 flts of stairs with my suite case to the crew lounge in Boston. I used to huff and puff (like everyone else) and now it barely fazes me! Yay me!
I texted myself the workout I did on Friday, so I could remember when I blogged:
Elliptical - 2.30 miles. 30 mins. 251 cals.
Bike - 4.30 miles. 25 mins. 150 cals.
Ill have to find a way to keep better track of what I am eating.
For Lent I have given up potatoes/french fries/ chips. HARDEST THING EVER! lol!
I slacked off a little when I saw my grandma/family but I still made healthy choices. Rice/ veggies instead of Fries. Teriyaki Strip Steak.
Which leads me back to yesterday and today.
Yesterday I moved from one room in my crashpad to another room.. All that heavy lifting and moving made me break a sweat. I moved all by myself... No help... But now my back is feeling it. Than I had a late report with work and didn't get in to Pittsburgh until midnight.
I am headed to the hotel gym the second im done with this post so I can get a good workout in before flying out later today!
